USA

California wonder-child Sydney Leroux has been on a meteoric rise since her breakout year in 2012, playing 27 games as a reserve with 14 goals that year. (Leroux averaged a goal for every 37 minutes she was on the field.) She is quickly emerging as one of the world's best forwards. Leroux was born in Canada to a Canadian mother and American father, and moved the U.S. when she was 15 to earn a college scholarship and play for the USWNT. Her decision to play for the USWNT, rather than Canada, adds even more fuel to the U.S vs. Canada rivalry and to Leroux's determination to succeed. When she's not suited up in the red, white and blue, Leroux plays club ball for Seattle Reign FC.
