Ready for 2014

Carlos Valderrama is, simply put, a soccer legend. Among his many accomplishments, other than growing one of the most famous bushy blond manes ever seen on a soccer field, his signature style, El Pipe (The Kid) has an all-time top 111 caps for Colombia, two South American Footballer of the Year trophies and the 1996 Major League Soccer MVP award. In the 2000 MLS season, the prolific playmaker known for his unparalleled vision and dazzling skill on the ball achieved a record 26 assists in 32 matches with the Tampa Bay Mutiny, considered by league historians to be an unbeatable mark. No one else has ever tallied 20.

Other than helping establish the MLS and being named in the league's All-Time Best XI, Valderrama starred for Colombia, leading Los Cafeteros in 1994 FIFA World Cup United States™ and 1998 FIFA World Cup France™. He was named in 2004 to the FIFA 100, Pele's list of the greatest living players. The term legend, often overused, is the only word to describe El Pipe.
