Rules of the Game: During a kick-off, the opponents of the team taking the kick-off must be at least 9.15 m (10 yds) from the ball until it is in play. Since the women's NCAA Div 1 championship was established in 1981, The University of North Carolina has won the tournament 19 times. Tab Ramos was announced as the first player to sign with Major League Soccer in January of 1995. D.C. United has won the MLS Cup four times, more than any other team. The U.S. Women's National Team's top two career goal scorers, Mia Hamm and Kristine Lilly, were teammates at the University of North Carolina.
