The Passback program provides used but playable soccer gear to needy teams and organizations around the world and here at home. Goalkeeper is the only position to be explicitly part of the rules of the game since they were codified in the 19th century. The first recorded women's soccer game took place on March 23, 1895. The U.S. Governing body for the sport did not have soccer in its name until 1945, when it became the U.S. Soccer Football Association. The United States Women's national team played its first-ever international soccer match on August 18, 1985 against Italy near Venice.
