Learn game tactics and principles

Tactical Games builds on the learning-based games concepts presented in the best selling DVD series 'Soccer Games'. In Tactical Games skills, tactics and the principles of the game are taught and refined. These games are targeted for advanced competitive players ages 12-17. (45 min. each)

Disc 1 teaches the principles of play using competitive games. Advanced players learn how to use width, depth, mobility and penetration to create scoring opportunities. The games also teach the defensive counter to these tactics.

Games are often decided in the offensive and defensive third of the field, and teams that can score in the attacking third are usually successful. Teams that can prevent shots on their goal are difficult to beat.

Disc 2 shows games that teach your team to score goals, and stop your opposition from doing the same.

The U.S. Governing body for the sport did not have soccer in its name until 1945, when it became the U.S. Soccer Football Association. The mascot for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany was a lion named Goleo VI. He had a talking soccer ball sidekick named Pille. The CONCACAF Championship/Gold Cup, first held in 1963, has been won seven times by Mexico and four times by the USA. The Final of the 1994 World Cup was played in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. America's best performance in the World Cup since 1930 came in 2002, when the Yanks made it to the quarterfinals.
