Turn your team into Strongmen

with Shawn Baier, M.S., C.S.C.S.

and Eric Hammer, C.S.C.S.

The use of strongman-type events in the training of athletes is rapidly gaining in popularity. This style of training is easily incorporated into an athlete's current training program and has numerous benefits, such as: Explosiveness, training of the posterior chain, core stabilization and emphasis on simultaneous triple extension of the ankles, knees and hips. Baier and Hammer go over several of the main strongman events that can be used in training for sport and give numerous variations, examples and demonstrations of each exercise. Functional Strongman Training for Sport is an excellent introduction to this style of training and a must see DVD for any coach who is looking to take his athletes' training to the next level!
