Everton's Dixie Dean set an English record when he scored 60 goals during the 1927-28 season. Mexican goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal played in five consecutive World Cups (1950-66). The North American Soccer League (NASL) existed from 1968 to 1984 with teams in the United States and Canada. The first international soccer game was played in Glasgow, Scotland in 1872. The Netherlands' Ernie Brandt is the only man to score a goal for both teams in a World Cup game, accomplishing the feat in 1978.
