Rules of the Game: The referee indicates an indirect free kick by raising his arm above his head. He maintains his arm in that position until the kick has been taken and the ball has touched another player or goes out of play. The FA Cup in England is the world's oldest soccer competition, having first taken place in 1871. The mascot for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France was a cockerel (or rooster) named Footix. The youngest player to score in the German Bundesliga was Nuri Sahin of Borussia Dortmund (16 years and 335 days) in 2005. The U.S. Women's National Team went 51 games without a loss between 2004 and 2007.
