The FA Cup in England is the world's oldest soccer competition, having first taken place in 1871. The mascot for the 1978 FIFA World Cup in Argentina was a boy character named Gauchito. Mexico's most famous stadium, Estadio Azteca, has an official seating capacity of 114,465. The first appearance of organized women's soccer in the US may have been in 1922, when a team sponsored by English company Dick, Kerr toured the country -and beat several top men's teams. The Netherlands' Ernie Brandt is the only man to score a goal for both teams in a World Cup game, accomplishing the feat in 1978.
