Rules of the Game: Coaches and other officials must remain within the confines of the technical area except in special circumstances, for example, a trainer or doctor entering the field of play, with the referee’s permission, to assess an injured player. Soccer was first played as an official Olympic competition in 1908. Great Britain won the Gold that year. Giovane Elber (Bayern Munich) holds the Bundsliga record for the fastest goal - 11 seconds! The earliest documented use of the word football appears in a proclamation by King Henry IV of England in 1409. The CONCACAF Championship/Gold Cup, first held in 1963, has been won seven times by Mexico and four times by the USA.
