Soccer was first played as an official Olympic competition in 1908. Great Britain won the Gold that year. The youngest player to score in the German Bundesliga was Nuri Sahin of Borussia Dortmund (16 years and 335 days) in 2005. The first Women’s World Cup was held in China in 1991. The team sponsored by Bethlehem Steel won four out of the first six US Open Cup tournaments- 1915, '16, '18 and '19. Columbus Crew Stadium, opened in 1999, was the first major soccer specific stadium in the U.S..
