The first recorded women's soccer game took place on March 23, 1895. The earliest documented use of the word football appears in a proclamation by King Henry IV of England in 1409. FC Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium has the largest official seating capacity in Europe: 98,787. The first appearance of organized women's soccer in the US may have been in 1922, when a team sponsored by English company Dick, Kerr toured the country -and beat several top men's teams. The first international soccer game was played in Glasgow, Scotland in 1872.
