Did you know a goal is three times as wide as it is tall?. The mascots for the 1974 FIFA World Cup in West Germany were two boy characters named Tip and Tap. Saudi Arabia, Iran and Japan have each won the Asian Cup championship three times. The first appearance of organized women's soccer in the US may have been in 1922, when a team sponsored by English company Dick, Kerr toured the country -and beat several top men's teams. Hungary scored 27 goals in the 1954 World Cup, more than any other country in a single World Cup.
