Goalkeeper is the only position to be explicitly part of the rules of the game since they were codified in the 19th century. The first appearance of organized women's soccer in the US may have been in 1922, when a team sponsored by English company Dick, Kerr toured the country -and beat several top men's teams. Just Fontaine scored 13 goals for France in the 1958 World Cup, the most for an individual in a single tournament. The 1970 World Cup was the first to be televised in color.
