Keane's double carries Tottenham

London, England (Sports Network) - Tottenham striker Robbie Keane scored two late goals to overcome West Brom 2-1 at White Hart Lane on Monday in Premiership action.
With the victory, the Spurs secured fourth place in league standings with 55 points and lead their greatest threat, Blackburn, by three.
The home side trailed West Brom 1-0 going into the second half. Skipper Curtis Davies opened the scoreboard in the 21st minute when he sent teammate Jonathan Greening's cross past Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
In the 67th minute, Keane grabbed the equalizer after receiving a pass from Michael Carrick that he managed to lift over West Brom goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.
The 25-year-old Irishman's strike marked his 50th Premiership goal for the club.
Tottenham sealed the deal with only minutes to play when Kuszczak brought down striker Jermain Defoe for a penalty which Keane fired in for the 2-1 victory.
The Spurs will look for their 16th league win of the season when the club heads to Newcastle this weekend.
West Brom meets third place Liverpool in hopes of recovering Monday's loss.
