Arena Admits To Roster Dilemmas
(Soccer365.com) - U.S. boss Bruce Arena says his job of finalizing a 23-man roster for World Cup is definitely trickier this year than it was in 2002.
The coach has decided to name his squad almost two weeks earlier than the FIFA deadline on May 2nd.
Observers believe as many as 18 spots are locked down, but Arena has kept his cards somewhat close to vest.
“It is difficult, there are some good players that won’t be selected and I probably won’t have time to talk to all of them,” he told reporters. “There will be some judgment calls.”
“When the roster comes out, there will be two, three, four, five players that could be on the roster,” concluded Arena. “It is a good problem to have, but it is difficult.”

Here's the starting line-up for the United States at this years world cup.
Keeper: Keller
Defenders: Onyewu, Gibbs, Cherundolo, and Lewis.
Midfielders: Reyna(C), O'Brien, Beasley, and Convey.
Forwards: McBride and Donovan
Three subs to use: Johnson for McBride, Mastroeni for O'Brien, and Dempsey for Convey.
