Ballack in "Serious" Chelsea Talks
(Goal.com) - Michael Ballack is in advanced talks with Chelsea according to the player's agent, Michael Becker.
Becker was defending the want-away Bayern Munich star from allegations of greed. On Monday, Bayern boss Uli Hoeneß suggested that the Germany captain was chasing cash in looking to leave the Bundesliga champions.
"It was always clear that Michael was not interested in learning a new language or a new culture but rather a new currency," Hoeneß told Kicker Sportmagazin.
Becker responded by telling Wednesday's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: "This comment is without foundation. Money is not the issue in the price category that Michael is in. He will be making a decision based on sporting considerations. We are in serious negotiations with Chelsea in London."
The player has long been expected to join the Londoners since Bayern withdrew an offer of a contract extension in November after the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder refused to make an official decision on his future.

Hoeneß is right, I think Ballack is chasing money more than anything, I mean a player doesn't usually decide which team he's going to that early!
