Blanco Lashes Out At Omission
(Soccer365.com) - Mexico star Cuauhtemoc Blanco has blasted coach Ricardo Lavolpe for leaving him off the 26-man provisional World Cup roster.
"Lavolpe can't tell me that I don't fit into his system if I have played under the command of umpteen coaches and have adapted to all of their systems," said the mercurial player.
"So I don't think it's so difficult to adapt to Ricardo's (system)," explained Blanco.
"As far as I'm concerned, there's no valid argument for my not being in the national team."

I think that Blanco should had gone because he was born in mexico and thats what it's about from mexico is it not?
Posted by: ???????????? | April 6, 2006 10:17 AM
yes, but there are a lot of players born in mexico. it's about having the best team possible and Blanco didn't make the cut.

he is overrated, he was great 4 years ago, but he is past his prime and being old and having a bad attitude is not good for any team.i'd understand if he was 5 yrs younger and cocky, he could back up his talk but now he is just a grumpy old man.

i think that somebody should tell lavolpe that you cannot win a world cup with kids. blanco is a good player and deserves to be in the team, now it dont really matter after this world cup lavolpe would get fired and we'll have another coach wiht more sense.

Lavolpe made a great desition by leaving blanco out he's sorry excuse for a soccer player, he does not deserve to be in the mexican national national team because he doesn't have the skills to play international matches he thinks he's the best player in mexico but he's nothing but basura, a very selfish man, horrible player who didnot want to play when Lavolpe needed him because he was "tired" honestly we don't need him, Mexico is doing so much better without him, blanco should be a man and accept the fact that he's not going to Germany to cripple a good team that has a chance to win the world cup..

Thank you lavolpe for not taking the hunchback blanco the worse player in Mexico.

Although I don't agree with everything Lavolpe does - I do agree with this move. Blanco's skills and attitude have dimminshed in the last several years. Mexico is a better team without this cancer.

i think blanco should go to the worl cup he is better than most of the player or at least lavolpe should let him be on the 26 players instead of claudio lopez and try him out i'm sure blanco would make to the world cup. Lavolpe is just angry and making his decision on personal feelings.
Posted by: campos | April 7, 2006 04:32 PM
i think thats mest up because blanco tried really hard to get to the world cup this year
Posted by: Carlos | April 7, 2006 04:47 PM
Yeah, we might not like Blanco's attitude but we have to admit that he does make a difference inside the field. Everybody knows that fact. He deserves to be in the national team...why is Rafa el Chiquis Garcia on it...he hasnt shown anything to us of what he is capable of. Family string attached garcia and lavolpe and thats it. We have to admit that Blanco makes a great difference than Zinha. Lavolpe will never accept that he is making a bad mistake even after the worldcup its over.

I hate blanco he acts like a baby all the time on the field and he causes lots of problems off the field as well i agree with ricrdo la volpe GO MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: alexis | April 7, 2006 10:03 PM
some people hate him, some people like him,but only one thing is right, blanco is the best number ten mexico has ever had,but now we are going to see the worse mexican team in the world cup history

i totally back up lavolpe. he should not take Blanco to the world cup. all blanco does is gets yellow cards and always gets in trouble and by taking him he could be risking leaving the team on the field with 10 men. besides that i think blanco is too overrated he only got his fame with a couple of fancy moves he pulled in the world cup but thats it. Bravo Lavolpe Bravo!!

I do not agree with lavolpe on this one. Blanco is a player that makes a difference on the field unlike chiquis and israel lopez. lavolpe needs to realize that its not about relationships between each other but who gets the job done.

What makes a great soccer team is being able to play well together, of course skill matters but if you have a player, Blanco, with a bad attitude and playing selfishly he shouldn't play because he will only hurt the team. A perfect example is look at Real Madrid right now. They have a lot of the best players in the world, but have no team chemistry. All those who want to see Mexico do well this World Cup are glad that Blanco isn't going.

i personaly don't like lavolpe that much but i support him in this decision.blanco has not been in great form recently but does have the skill to compete at the highest level.the fact of the matter is that his personality could seriously hurt the morale and prosperity of the team.he has been decisive in previous games but were not going to depend on blanco all the time.new talent has to come up.and besides its very arguable that he is the best mexican player at the moment when the only mexican playing in the semifinals of the most prestigious club tournament in the world is Rafa Marquez

I think Lavolpe makes the right decision. If Blanco is so good, what he is not playing for Barcelona, Real Madrid, Boca Juniors etc.....
The team will do GOOD without Blanco. He should go back to school and try to get a High School diploma.

The law of Fifa cares about of CITIZENSHIP. Not where you are born. Lavolpe makes the right decision to pick up the best players on the Mexican League.
Posted by: Pablo | April 15, 2006 03:42 PM
Blanco es el mejor jugador de Mexico aunque no quieran aceptarlo!!!
Posted by: Meli | April 19, 2006 02:52 PM
cuau es la mera verga he should be in the world cup no matter what hes better than all the other 26
Posted by: chuy | April 21, 2006 02:18 PM
I think Lavolpe made the right decision leaving Blanco off the roster. He has a HUGE attitude problem, and he is PAST his prime. Maybe if he didnt have such a bad attitude he would be on the roster. What's wrong with giving the young kids a chance!! He's had his!

Like it or not cuatemoc is a great soccer player who accomplishes more on the field than any other mexican soccer player. players like chiquis, and lopez are a joke and it's a mistake that temo won't be @ this world cup

It is a shame that the Mexican Soccer federation has allowed Mr. Lavolpe with so much power about the national team and who goes and who stays. I personally feel The Mexican national team will survive this World Cup but thanks to their courage and warrior mentality but not because they are well coach, I see the Mexican team advancing over the tournament as they get more confidence still, they could have done much better with a player such as Blanco, a solid player that possess the vision and the temperament to change the tempo of a game at any time. Remember this, first loss in the tournament for Mexico and Lavolpe will be gone which in terms is good because it is time for a real mexican such as Hugo Sanchez to coach. If Mexico wants to be recognize as a force in the world as a soccer team it must promote from within that means use their own material (Mexican players and Mexican coaches). Thanks for allowing this gringo it's two cents.
