Cha-Ching: Houston wins big
Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston Dynamo's Brian Ching scored four goals to overcome the Colorado Rapids, 5-2 at Robertson Stadium.
The Haleiwa, Hawaii native became the seventh player in Major League Soccer history to score at least four goals during a match, and the first to accomplish the feat in a season opener.
Houston forward Dwayne De Rosario also made league history during the game. The 27-year-old striker tied the MLS record for assists in a game, tallying four.
Ching recorded the first goal in Dynamo history as he slid past the Rapids defense and beat goalkeeper Joe Cannon in the 13th minute.
Seconds later, the Rapids grabbed the equalizer with a goal from Kyle Beckerman, 30 yards out.
Before the half, Houston took the 3-1 lead as Ching went on to score his second and then third goals within a ten minute span.
The Rapids attempted to stay in the game after the break as Jovan Kirovski sent his free kick sailing over the Houston wall past Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Onstad, creating a 3-2 match.
However, Ching scored again in the 72nd minute, followed by Alejandro Moreno, who sent a full bicycle kick past Cannon to wrap up the match and hand the club its first victory.

WOW!!! Brian Ching surprised everyone this past monday! Last season, we didn't hear his name mentioned to many times, but he made sure that his name and his new team name will be mentioned a lot this upcoming season. Scoring four goals in one game is insane, i never would have thought that ching could score even a hat trick. I would expect De Rosario or Alejandro Moreno to get a hat trick+1, Even though moreno had an amazing 90th minute goal which will probably be the goal of the week in the mls. Anyway, Ching has shown that the Houston Dynamo are and will be a force to be reckoned with!
