Club America: Champion of Champions
(Soccer365.com) - Club America wins fifth Champions Cup and Qualifies to FIFA Club World Cup.
On Wednesday, Mexico’s richest soccer club, Club América won their fifth CONCACAF Champions’ Cup™ after defeating visiting Club Deportivo Toluca 2 - 1 in extra time in the second-leg of the 2006 Final held at the Estadio Azteca in Ciudad de México.
The fifth CONCACAF crown for the Águilas (1977, 1987, 1990, 1992, 2006) ties the overall best record held by capital archrivals, Cruz Azul (1969, 1970, 1971, 1996, 1997).
After a scoreless 90 minutes of play in the hard-fought final, and the overall series still leveled (first leg was a 0-0 draw), Paraguayan Paulo César Da Silva gave Toluca the 1 - 0 lead with a goal three minutes into the extra period.
Brazilian strike ace, Kleber nailed the equalizer in the 105th minute and at the 115th mark, Duilio Davino hit the game-winner for Club América.
The Eagles’ victory secured their berth as the CONCACAF qualifier to the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2006—last year won by Sao Paulo—in December, while the Red Devils, last season’s Mexican champions, will be one of the three CONCACAF invitees to the Copa Nissan Sudamericana later this year.

Yes America does play very well. I beleive that they should like mix the Mexican League and the M.L.S. to make a big league where they can like relegate teams and stuff. This would also make the M.L.S. better because right now it pretty much stinks. Also it would create stronger bonds between the U.S. and Mexico.
