El Tri Gets Clean Bill of Health
(Soccer365.com) - The Mexican national team doctor says everyone, including the recently operated Zinha, are in good shape.
During their Acapulco training session, Team Mexico was issued a clean bill of health, with barely more than a month for the World Cup, including Brazilian-born midfielder, Antonio Naelson “Zinha, who recently underwent surgery.
The Mexican champion Toluca player had surgery on his right knee February 28th, and has had a remarkable recovery.
“Zinha had a minor problem which suddenly arose, it’s not continuous and doesn’t limit movement or articulation,” said Dr. Serrano. “It is normal for the type of injury he suffered, that’s why we left him three weeks without putting weight on the foot.”
Zinha practiced with his 25 teammates on Monday as part of the training for World Cup Germany ’06.
“He’s in the last phase of his rehabilitation, all we have left is to evaluate how much weight he can sustain and go from there.” Serrano did state that Zinha is “running even with everyone.”
