Gerrard and Adriano Confirmed As Real Targets
(Goal.com) - Real Madrid director of football Benito Floro has confirmed that Liverpool's captain Steven Gerrard is one of their transfer targets, as is unsettled Inter striker Adriano.
The England midfielder, 25, signed a new four-year contract last summer after almost joining Chelsea.
But Real Madrid see Gerrard and Inter Milan striker Adriano as their "priority" signings.
Floro told Spanish radio station Cadena Star: "Gerrard is a player on the list that we wanted to sign previously."
The Merengues are looking to bring in new, younger talent after a third successive campaign without winning a trophy.
Floro added: "I've recommended as priority signings a powerful central striker like Adriano and a top midfielder in case Zinedine Zidane leaves."
Zidane has a one-year option after this season and will decide on his future after the World Cup. Adriano, meantime, apparently has not been getting along with Inter's Argentine contingent.
Since last summer's on-off Chelsea saga, Gerrard has appeared settled at Anfield.
But Liverpool manager Benitez, previously coach at Valencia, has often been mentioned by Real as a possible candidate to take over from caretaker manager Juan Roman Lopez Caro.

When is Real Madrid going to figure out that their problem isn't the lack of attacking players or strikers? Their back line is bad and they never replaced Claude Makelele. Adding Gerrard or Adriano will not solve their problems. English players going to Real are 0 for 3. Beckham, Owen, and Woodgate, have not been the players they were before they went to Madrid.

I AGREE REAL MADRID DOESN'T NEED A FOWARD THEY NEED A GOOD BACK I MEAN DEFENSE , DEFENSE , DEFENSE , AND DEFENSE THAT IS ALL THEY NEED AND TOO MANY SUPER START , LOOK MY TEAM BC , MILAN THEY ARE THE BEST WITH OUT A LOT OF SUPERSTART.

Real, please listen to us the dedicated fans and fix the defense. Kindly release Beckham, Woodgate and Gravesen, who are only good for the English style of play. Replace them with Galas of Chelsea, Lugano of Sao Paulo, and Yaap Stam of AC Milan to fortify the defense, please.

real madrid has zidane and they don't need gerrard. maybe later on when zidane looks to retire would be a better time for gerrard.

real madrid should go for juninho, van der vaart, c.ronaldo and ibrahimovic zlatan that would be extremly good for them and if they could get mexes from roma as well that would be perfect.

What real needs is vincent del bosque!They sud keep baptista,robinho,casillas,cicinho, mejie,ramos.They sud get rid of the rest!Replace them with players from 2nd team like soldado.Get torres and requilme, c.Ronaldo.

gerrard shud learn from owens mistakes, look where he ended. tbh liverpool need gerrard so much more than real and he's a true liverpudlian.i reckon he's much more a hero in england than he would be if he moves real and thats a big if.
i trust gerrard to make the right decision and reamain faithful to his fellow liverpudlians

Real is look for someone to replace zidane. I dont think that gerrard is the right choice. plus, i dont know why gerrard would want to go to real. they do not use the talent they have wisely. I also think that adriano should not go to real.

ever since real lost makalele, they havent been the same! and yes, lugano from sau paolo, is awesome. probably masherano can help that weak midfield.

Whereever Makelele goes, he wins trophies. Doing well at Chelsea and France after helping Real Madrid win so many trophies. Real are reals dopes; they let him go and now they're suffering. They let Figo also go and then Owen after which Robinho couldn't score any goals. When will we learn; if something is not broken, don't fix it. Owen scored goals, so they should've kept him. Beckham is playing his heart out at Real and deserves his place.

i love madrid and i am a big fan of them. I agree with capello for buying new players but he should think more on defense like bringing cannavaro ect. He should also bring cristiano, torres, kaka, buffon (to help casillas out) adriano, zambrotta, and ibrahimovic. and also with the rest madrid players they would just turn out to be perfect

Gerrad shouldn't go to Real!
I think real's just a overrated team with too much individual players and that causes a prblem cuz football is a team sport.
They've to become more unitly and play toghether Ive seen too little of that from their sides, too bad.
They are The best team on the paper, but not practicaly seen.

Abramovic has Higher offer than 125 milion euros
And they should buy someone in defense,their defense was weak in the last season.
