Lippi Considering Tavano For World Cup
(Goal.com) - The Empoli forward has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring 18 goals in Serie A.
Francesco Tavano has been doing extremely well this year for the Tuscan side, and he has almost convinced Marcello Lippi that he must be taken to Germany this summer, ahead of the injury-prone Christian Vieri and the rebel Antonio Cassano.
With the other five forward strikers almost already decided (Del Piero, Gilardino, Inzaghi, Toni and Totti), Lippi has only one more player to add to the forward line barring any further injuries.
The favourite surely remains Christian Vieri, despite his below par season, but Tavano has imposed himself upon the list of the most interesting Serie A players this year with great goals and performances.
It all depends on Lippi now, but Tavano has surely done his best.
