Pearce Happy To Have Reyna Fit
(Soccer365.com) - Despite a weekend loss to Tottenham, Manchester City manager Stuart Pearce admitted it was quite nice to have U.S. captain Claudio Reyna back in the line-up.
The American Abroad missed time with a shoulder injury, and returned in an unusual left midfield position – something the coach says is no worry for the veteran.
“Claudio can play football anywhere because he’s a good footballer,” he told the club website. “He showed that Saturday).”
“I don’t think it matters to him whether he plays central or on the left, he can still play football.”
“He’s one of the best, most natural footballers at the club,” rated Pearce. “I told him on Friday I was going to play him on the left.”
“I feel as though Claudio can play anywhere out there and Kiki (Musampa) is playing fairly well in the middle for me.”
“It was common sense for me, and I think between the pair of them it worked okay - I was quite happy with their performances.”

I'll be happy if Reyna can stay fit. We need him in Germany. But I'm not holding my breath, when's the last time he was healthy for more than a couple weeks?
