Alecko Eskandarian scored on either side of halftime to send D.C. United on their way to a 4-1 rout of hosts New York.
Facundo Erpen and Jamil Walker added goals for the victors, while Brain Carroll notched a pair of assists.
Meanwhile, Dwayne De Rosario scored with six minutes remaining to give Houston a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake.
Jeff Cunningham broke the ice for the guests on 57 minutes, but Craig Waibel tied the score on the hour.
Finally, Kyle Martino hit the only goal deep into stoppage time to lift Columbus past Los Angeles 1-0 at Home Depot Center.
