Second-leg Champions League results
Two teams powered through to the Champions League semi-finals with victories this afternoon. The surprise: Only one was Italian.
AC Milan's quest to be European champions was doomed until Filippo Inzaghi headed in a winner in the 88th minute. With the score 1-1, which would have sent Lyon to its first semi-final in history, Milan took control of the tie on Inaghi's second goal of the match. Andriy Shevchenko followed with a third in extra time, burying the French club's hopes of an upset.
In the other Champions League match, AC Milan's chief rival was handed a one-way ticket home by Villarreal. Inter Milan, which took a 2-1 lead to Spain, were held scoreless and fell out of the competition. Rodolfo Arruabarrena scored for Villarreal, who advance to the semis in their first Champions League experience.
On Wednesday, Juventus tries for a comeback at home against Arsenal, and Barcelona hosts Benefica after a scoreless first-leg.

AC Milan pulled out a win this time, but the eventual champion will be a winner from today's Arsenal/Juve and Barca/Benefica games.

I know it was going to be very difficult difficult for the Italian old ladies(Juventus) to turn the table against Arsenal without the services of four of their key players.I sympathize with them and wish them the best of luck next session.
