Albelda Stunned By Baraja Snub
(Soccer365.com) - Red Fury wingman Albelda was shocked by his teammate's omission from the Germany '06 squad.
Spain midfielder David Albelda was taken aback by Luis Aragones decision to leave Valencia teammate Ruben Baraja out of the World Cup selection.
Baraja has played 38 times for his country, and performed superbly at the 2002 edition.
"It's very strange," he told El Mundo. "Luis is the one who decides and he will have his reasons, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that Ruben won't be going because he deserves to go to this World Cup."
"He's got more caps that all the other midfielders and his absence is the one that has most surprised me."
