Cahill on road to recovery
(Soccer365.com) - Cahill injured the joint in April and his spot in the Germany '06 squad was in doubt.
The Everton star injured the joint in April and his participation in the World Cup was thought to be in doubt.
But he looked in good shape as he took part in a practice match at the Aussies' base in Mierlo, Holland.
"I'm not going to count my chickens, and it is still a race against time to get fully fit, but it is good to be back,'' Cahill told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"It has been five and a half weeks post-injury, so I'm feeling good.
"There's still a chance that it might recur - so I have to take it easy and see how it goes. I need a week to really get a feel for how it is going.''
Australia play Holland on Sunday in a warm-up game and open their World Cup account against Japan on June 12.
