Champions Chelsea Win It In Style
(Goal.com) - Chelsea produced an emphatic performance to beat their closest rivals Manchester United 3-0 and clinch their second successive Premiership title.
A first-half goal from Wiliam Gallas (after 5 minutes) and second-half strikes from man-of-the-match Joe Cole (61) and defender Ricardo Carvalho (73) underlined what the league table confirms: Chelsea is the best team in England at the moment.
But from an English perspective, hearts were in mouths when the national talisman Wayne Rooney went down in agony late in the second-half after a seemingly routine challenge by Paolo Ferreira and had to be stretchered off. With the World Cup looming, all thoughts were on England's chances, which are tied directly with the fitness of the country's wunderkind.
Chelsea are currently 12 points clear of United with two games left to play, and only Charlton Athletic, with a draw, have managed to take any points away from Stamford Bridge all season.
Congratulations must be given to Jose Mourinho's Blues, who become the first London side to win back-to-back titles since Arsenal over 70 years ago. For Mourinho himself, this is his fourth successive championship - two with Porto in Portugal being followed by two in England with Chelsea.

WELL TRIED MAN U BUT THE BLUES WERE ALL ROUND THE BEST TEAM FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS. IT WAS UNFORTUNATE THAT ROONEY GOT INJURED. NOW THE ENGLISH FANS HAVE MORE TO WORRY ABOUT. GOOD LUCK ROONEY!

I hate Mourinho. He's unapologetically arrogant and gets to buy anyone he wants. But I have to admit, he's good. you can't argue with the results.

I have to admit that Chelsea are dominating but they're games aren't EXCITING!!! Man Utd always play with excitement that's why our fans are so passionate. if i could talk to Jose mourinho i'd tell him he needs to hand out maps of the pitch to his players so they don't trip all over. But they are England's Superstars. If they came to MLS though, forget about everything i said except them being England's Superstars.
