CL Reaction: Belletti, Valdes, Deco And Giuly Have Their Say

(Goal.com) - Match-winner Belletti admitted that scoring was the last thing on his mind before the match, while Valdes thanked Rijkaard for showing confidence in him.

Juliano Belletti scored the match-winner with nine minutes to go on the clock. As expected, he couldn't stop gushing.

"This team deserved this big win. It wasn't easy to get here. This afternoon, when we were still back at the hotel, I thought that this was the kind of game every player dreams of appearing in.

"When I scored the goal, the first thing I thought about was my son. In the Champions League, a right back doesnt normally get to score.

"More than my goal, I would like to remember the job the team did as a whole."

Barcelona had a few key saves from Victor Valdes to thank, for keeping them in the contest. The stopper thanked Rijkaard.

"If it hadn't been for the boss I wouldn't have been playing in this final. It has been a difficult season but he has put his faith in me since the first minute and I'll be eternally grateful for that.

"Game by game, we have had two great seasons and we have proved that we have a very good young side.

"My saves from Henry? They're all part of football.

"Both their goalkeepers had good games, but luckily we have a lot of quality up front and were able to score."

Midfielder Deco, the only Barcelona player to have won the trophy before, gave his take.

"It was a difficult game, but in the space of five minutes we were rewarded for fighting hard and believing in ourselves.

"Today we have shown that in football, a game can be decided in just five minutes."

Former Monaco forward Giuly, the only other Barca player to have played in a Champions League final, could not be separated from his son throughout the celebrations.

"It was an exceptional final. We played a great game."

"I celebrated it with my son because it was such an important moment for me. I dedicate it to my family."
