Czechs Scramble To Get Smicer Fit
(Soccer365.com) - Czech doctors working overtime to get key striker Vladimier Smicer fit for World Cup.
Czech Republic medicos are working hard to get injured attacker Vladimier Smicer ready for World Cup after a blood clot was detected in his thigh.
"Lasers, draining, special bandages; we're trying everything possible," Dr. Jiri Fousek told Mlada Fronta Dnes.
The Bordeaux veteran says he won’t leave the team unless his hand is forced by the setback.
“The World Cup should be the peak of my career and it's worth the risk," said Smicer. "I feel a part of this team and would like to stay with it no matter what."
