Eto’o Unconcerned w/ Golden Boot

(Soccer365.com) - Barcelona strike ace Samuel Eto’o says he is not motivated by becoming top league scorer as much as he his by winning medals.

"I'm not obsessed by it," he told AS. "If I was allowed to choose, I would much rather win the league and the Champions League."

"I score goals because it is my job and to help Barcelona win games, not because I want to end the season as top scorer.

"At the start of the season, I set myself a target to beat the number of goals I scored last year in all competitions and I've done that," noted Eto’o. "Last time, I scored 29, and this time, I'm already on 31."

i love this player skilled and unselfish. keep his name out your mouth basically

he is a great example of how a great striker should be. He cares about his team bieng successful more than him scoring goals.

eto'o must be top scoorer in ta liga

I would like to see Eto'o playing on the Italian league or English league. After that I will be saying how good he is. I would to samething for Ronaldhino. Playing in Spain is not hard like in Italy or England.

He's reslly good at futbol and he knows what he's doing.

Eto'o is selfish. When your own coach tells you that you are looking for the goal to much and paying attention to the game its selfish. And to day the Spanish league is not difficult. Barcelona is from the Spanish league and in the final.

Hi there everyone I'm a loyal Samuel Eto'o Fils fan from South Africa.I love the way he plays,I make sure I watch each and every match that he plays. My heart get's broken when I hear bad publicity about him,I really care for him.I really wish that one day I could be able to see him face to face and just hold him.To me he's the GREATEST soccer player alive.I love you ETO'O,and my room is full of your posters every wall!!!!
I'm OBSESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My future HUSBAND

Eto'o is the best striker in the world tied with henry, most people think he is overrated because he plays with ronaldinho, but personally I think eto'o does just as much for ronaldinho as he does for him, easily the best african player of all time in my opinion

bieng a proud brother of eto'o considerin we r form the same country, same town, and he went to da same skool with my cousin and that i had the honor to meet him, i thank you for all your suport toward that extremely great striker. the best in the world who succesfully broke out of the shadow of ther praised players such as ronaldo, beckam, zidane or who ever.

Eto'o is without question one of the best strikers in the world. The pace and fluidity with which he attacks is borderline super-human. However, I'm not sure I would call him unselfish. These are unselfish comments to a degree, but he has made others to the contrary. When a player whines about being too tired, etc. during a preseason tour like he did when Barcelona toured the US recently, I don't know that I would say that is unselfish. I think it is the manager's job to set the schedule and manage personnel for matches, etc. It is the job of a player to give 100% for every match for which he is called on, rather than to question the management's decisions and complain.

That said, he's an incredible talent, perhaps the best African-born player ever and I would agree that he elevates the players around him as well.

Playing in Spain is not difficult? I beg to differ. Look at the number of top players in Spain. Granted they are mostly concentrated in two clubs, but with clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia, etc. you can't say it is not difficult. You certainly can't say that when a Spanish side won the champions league. I too would like to see some of these players compete in the EPL, but I think the Italian league has been on a serious slide the past few years by comparison.

Okocha is the best AFrican born player, Eto is number 2

essien and drogba is better than eto he get 5 chances he will score 2 he scores alot of goals but throw to much he need to watch ronaldo closely the best goal scorer the game ever seen

eto henry and shevchenko are the best strikers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

eto' is good but Gorge weah is best African player of all times

eto iz 1 of the top strikrs in the world n i tnk h mst be nominatd 2 b the fotbal of the yr.

he is a real example for africa. too proud of him.there are few of them on earth

It's interesting to see this point of view. I can't say fore sure if I agree or not, but it is something I will think about now.
