Foot Fracture May Keep Rooney from World Cup
(Goal.com) - Manchester United have confirmed people's worst fears over Wayne Rooney's foot injury suffered on Saturday in the loss to Chelsea.
With just eight minutes remaining and United far from winning the match, Rooney went down with a foot injury after a challenge by Paulo Ferreira.
A statement from Manchester United says the England star will be out of action until June.
"Wayne Rooney has a fracture of the base of the fourth metatarsal on his right foot.
"He will be out for six weeks."
With England set to play their first World Cup match on June 10 against Paraguay, a six week recovery period from his foot fracture would mean Rooney could return to action on June 3, a week before England's opener.

I hope Rooney is well in time for the WC. It will be good for England, of course, it would also be good for the cup itself to have Rooney there playing. But if he is not fit then that will be England's excuse for a poor proformence.

If you click on Teams of the World Cup at the top of the hgapemoe you will find a simple list of the entries in the series so far. Will be working on better upgrades in the next few days/weeks.
