New Award For Henry
(Goal.com) - Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has today been named the Premiership Player of the Season.
It is the Frenchman's latest award, as the 28-year-old was also named this season's football writers' player of the year.
He is the Premiership's top goalscorer with 24 strikes so far, although this hasn't inspired the Gunners enough this season as they currently lie in fifth place with a game to go.
Matt Appleby, from the Barclays Awards Panel, said: "Henry has graced Arsenal's last season at Highbury in magnificent style.
"He combines moments of brilliance and entertainment with match-winning goals.
"No wonder he was described by one opposition manager as 'unplayable'."

fine, henry is a great player and he deserves the award, but why don't defenders and goalkeepers win any awards? People only pay attention to the defenders and goalkeepers mistakes instead of their saves

This is one award given to a gunner that I will not argue about. Henry definately deserves it.

I live in the USA and have watched Thierry Henry. He is graceful, talented, unselfish and one of the greatest players in Arsenal's history. He has worked hard and deserves the award. Every young football player should model their football skills and attitude to match Henry's team spirit, leadership and collaboration. He is an awesome talent.

I think Henry is one of the best strickers in the world he deserved the award. Although I think he will loose in the final May 17th vs. Barcelona. I also tink Henry will win the Golden Boot in this year's world cup.
