Brazil are keeping their fingers crossed that star striker Ronaldo will be fully fit in time for the team's World Cup opener against Croatia on June 13.
The Real Madrid ace struggled in training on Thursday in Weggis, Switzerland, where Brazil are preparing.
"I'm having muscular pains but any sacrifice is worthy for the national team," he said.
Brazil boss Carlos Alberto Parreira said: "He is motivated and we're doing everything so the team will be at the top level after the third World Cup match."
Milan defender Cafu had injury problems this season and needed a knee operation in late February but he looks to be in good shape.
"I'm fully fit," he said. "I've managed to recover successfully."
Over 5,000 fans turned up at the Thermoplan stadium to watch the Brazil players go through their paces on Thursday.
Brazil's Ronaldinho, meanwhile, is hoping to build on yet another magnificent campaign which saw him capture a second straight Primera Liga title and a Champions League crown.
He says the atmosphere in the Brazil team is terrific.
"This moment is marvellous," he said.
"We're trying to profit from every second and it motivates me a lot to keep on working to be in form for a long time."
Brazil also face Australia and Japan in Group F.

I agree...ronaldo is a great player, nobody can beat a player 1 on 1 like he can. he'll get in shape for the world cup.

Ronaldo, what is there to say about Ronaldo except he is probably the best striker alive right now. He's battled two knee surgeries along with patellar tendon problems for years, and yet he has still scored the most goals at a world cup tournament. The only thing left for him to do is break his own records. He'll shame defenders this year and prove to the world that he is still one of the greatest strikers in the world

With all the talent they have, Brazil NEEDS Ronaldo to win? Come on, the difference maker on Brazil is Ronaldinho. You guys think its the same Ronaldo from 4 years ago. The best striker in the world right now is Henry.
