Rummenigge: Kahn Was Crushed
(Soccer365.com) - Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that netminder Oliver Kahn was down in the dumps after Jens Lehmann was named as Germany’s World Cup #1 by Jürgen Klinsmann.
The 2002 hero put on a brave face, pledging his support to the coach and the team.
"We were really worried about him," he told Bild. "He was just floored.
"He reacted well," praised Rummenigge. "He's going to quit the national team after the World Cup and concentrate on Bayern Munich."

I don't know what the hey Klinsmann was thinking. This is Kahn's last world cup, a chance to show the world that he's a living legend, and he is denied the chance to do that. I can't believe this at all

fine, but klinsmann needs to think about whats better for the team!!! he can't just have kahn play to make him feel better. and frankly, lehmann has been playing better lately. plus, lehmann and kahn are both 36 years old and it's lehmann's last world cup too.

Kahn is by far a better Leader, player and a bigger presence on the field. And when it come to world cup experience.. kahns the man... Just because lehmann is playing better at this moment does not mean a thing..Kahn has been here before and Knows that consistency is the key!

kahn is much better than lehman.

I think that Lehman earned the position over Kahn. Lehman plays in a better league. And the fact that Kahn has World Cup experience means nothing. Look at the US. Keller played in 1998 (not that that world cup is anything to brag about for the US), but then Friedel, who hadn't played a world cup game, plays in 2002 and takes the US to the Quarterfinals. Lehman is capable of leading Germany. Just give him a chance. So I support Klinsmann's decision.

Lehman and Kahn are both great keepers, each of them brings something different. But the fact is that Lehman has been playing better and if I recall, Arsenal is in the Champions League final, and Lehman has helped every step of the way.

Big mistake by choosing lehman. He might be in better form right now at the moment, but he is not very smart at all. He can't seem to control himself in certain situations. Hence, he will loose Germany the world cup!!

Its a tough decision for Klinsmann. Kahn was the best keeper in the last cup and he is a huge pressence in the box. Lehman has been in good form lately and has taken Arsenal to the Champions Cup final. THey're both old as hell but i think klinsmann made the right decision.
One thing is for certain though. The USA is not that good. I know its off topic but all of you guys need to get real. All anyone does is talk and advertise. You're just setting yourselves up for a huge dissapointment.

"Kahn, who had 86 caps for Germany, was captain of the team that went to the World Cup final in 2002, where it lost to Brazil 2-0. He won the Golden Ball award given to the most valuable player of the 32-team tournament."
One mistake was all Germany needed to rid themselves of the BEST GOALKEEPER IN THE WORLD...
this is why Germany will lose in 2010
