Salgado Thigh Concern For Spain
(Soccer365.com) - Spanish defender Michel Salgado is out for Saturday's Russia match due to a hamstring injury.
Spain international Michel Salgado has suffered a hamstring injury in training and will miss Saturday's friendly against Russia.
The Real Madrid right back hurt his right thigh during Tuesday's workouts and will have to undergo more tests to know the severity of the injury.
"My first impression is that there's no serious damage," said Spain team doctor Genaro Borras.
"The injury is in the same area where two years ago he sustained a more serious problem.
"In 48 hours we will have another test but I believe he could recover in five days."
Salgado missed Euro 2004 after tearing a hamstring only two days into his national team's preparations for the tournament in Portugal.
