Van Basten: Huntelaar Has Time
(Soccer365.com) - Dutch coach Marco van Basten explains Huntelaar omission from Germany '06 roster.
Fresh from naming his World Cup squad, Holland manager Marco van Basten reasoned that omitted strike starlet Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is certain to make such squads in the future.
"Klaas-Jan had a good season at Ajax and Heerenveen with many goals, but is unlucky that we won't take four central strikers to the World Cup," he explained.
"He made a good impression last week and is a balanced boy who will make the squad in the coming years."
Huntelaar, who led the Eredivisie in scoring this season, will now lead Young Oranje into the Under-21 European Championships starting next week.
