Van der Vaart blow hits Holland
(Soccer365.com) - The rising Dutch star was struck by a ball which forced him to leave practice.
The 23-year-old Hamburg midfielder was forced to leave training on Monday after being struck by a ball.
He already sat out Holland's weekend friendly with Cameron as a precaution after undergoing an operation to remove a screw from the joint.
"The new injury is on a different spot," said head coach Marco van Basten.
"It is clear though that the joint is not comfortable yet. It is good he stopped the training immediately. We must now wait and see how serious it exactly is."
