Van Nistelrooy Up For Sale – Report
(Goal.com) - Manchester United will allow Ruud van Nistelrooy to join the highest bidder, according to the Guardian.
The Dutchman stormed out of Old Trafford on Sunday after learning that he was not in the starting line-up for the match with Charlton.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is known to have become frustrated with the player’s attitude since he was left out of the Carling Cup final against Wigan in February.
Ferguson spoke at length with his chief executive David Gill yesterday and it appears that the player is free to leave the club, as long as a suitable offer is made.
The player has been told that he is not welcome at Roy Keane’s testimonial tonight, and an insulted van Nistelrooy has flown off to the Netherlands to join a pre-World Cup training camp.
The former PSV Eindhoven star is the latest in a long line of players to have been shown the door after incurring the wrath of Ferguson.
There will be no shortage of takers for the 29-year-old, with some of the biggest clubs in Italy, Spain and England likely to be interested.

It just goes to show that no matter how good you are, you should never cross the boss.

I coach 11 year olds and they act like Ruud or should I say Ruud acts like them. Pretty sad.

I'm a United fan so I really liked all the goals Ruud has scored for the club, but I don't think he fits the kind of team that Sir Alex is building. If you look at the guys they have in attack, they are all very pacy, athletic and dangerous with the ball at their feet. Not his game at all.

Don't count your goals before they are scored. Man. U will miss van Nistelrooy but they can live without him. He is a phenomenonal player with great skill but you have to take it gracefully when you don't start and when you do take the field make a huge difference and give all you've got. He has hopefully learned his lesson. Ruud contributed alot to the Man. U offense but he will do better somewhere else. Congrats to any club that gets him.

If i was ferguson i would not have any players like him on my team, even though he is good.

Although Ruud acted inappropriately Ferguson is making a mistake letting Ruud get on the transfer market, ferguson should realize that Ruud is a fundamental striker that gets the job done better than Saha. Plus Rooney is injured.

its ironic that ruud is not invited to Roy's testimonial when keane too left man U. in the best matter.

I think that was a mistake putting Ruud up and out like that. He's all Man U. has now that Rooney is gone. But as long as Ruud stays with Holland I am fine. But as soon as he leaves Holland is when I'll get ready to punch someone in the face.

Just to tell you, liquizonia, a player can't switxh to another country. good try though.

Ruud is an excillent player. He has scored some of Man U best goals.therefore I strongly disagree with Ferguson's plans to auction him off.He is a much better player than Saha.
I give him a 9/10 and Saha 6/0

No one player should ever be bigger than the team. I support Ferguson's decision. Ruud is a great player, but he needs to remember that he doesn't call the shots, Ferguson does. So either play nice in the sand box or grab your shovel & pail and go home.

Well i guess he will grab his shoven and pail home then. Ferguson might be a great coach, but he makes very dumb decisions with super stars. Letting Beckam, Keane, and now Rudd go. Its a shame to let him go, after all he has done for United. 150 goals in 5 seasons. What more could a coach ask for? Rudd is unreplaceble, so id forget about winning the premiership next season ferguson. I also hope Rudd gets the golden boot at the world cup so he can say "look what united let go."

It seems that Sir Alex Ferguson has a history of not respecting or protecting his superstars. This is bad news for other stars on the team--the older you get, the more he disrespects you. Ruud is right to walk out, he should not play for a team if the coach has no respect for him. Ferguson is an outdated coach; he should learn to share minutes among his veteran players and the younger guys. Afterall, a player's past contribution should be revered and if you want to let him go, you should do it gracefuly.

Man U doesnt need Ruud. Saha can do the trick. Fergie made a good choice. In some cases he is good but also blows chances created by Giggs, Rooney and my boy Cristiano.Ruud would be a good fit to play for a strong club in his home country. Maybe Ajax?

matt, actually you can switch international teams. All you have to do is get a new citizenship in whatever country. And on the Ruud topic, United will definately miss him

Ruud is a phenomenon player.Ilike the Goals that he has scored over the past years.they are all fantastic, He is the best striker in the penalty area. and He should stay at man utd.sir alex never made mistake about the ruud's situation and van nistelrooy should follow the coach's instruction.

Sir Alex doesn't have issues with Ruud's performance. However, if he is a problem in the locker room, then he needs to be set straight. Sir Alex has always made it clear that no one is bigger club. "Anonymous" Keane hasn't been the same player in 3 years and if they don't sell Beckham, they wouldn't have had the money for Ronaldo & Rooney. What had Beckham done since he went to Madrid.....hmmm....nothing.

Rudd is a good striker and i love him for that, but him leaving the club does not mean man utd can not we can't win next season cos i know we have better players in the team too.saha, rooney can equaly perform better and alex ferguson did the right thing by selling him off the club
