Baros Doubtful For Czechs' Opener

(Goal.com) - The Czech Republic's striker Milan Baros is doubtful for their opening game against the United States on June 12 because of a foot injury.

Team coach Karel Bruckner said in Prague today, just before the Czech squad flew out to Germany: "Regarding Milan, we do not know. It is a rather disagreeable injury."

Aston Villa star Baros was top scorer at Euro-2004 with five goals. He sustained the foot injury on Saturday during a World Cup warm up match against Trinidad and Tobago.

"He fell badly on his foot and hurt the arch," Bruckner added.

Baros said he had not trained since the injury. "I feel pain whenever I move fast," he admitted.

The Czechs also play against Ghana on June 17 and Italy on June 22.

i hope he doesn't play. i think it will give the u.s. an extra boost of confidence when they have to play. i really want the u.s. to do well.

this is good the us needs every edge they can get. the confedance of him out among others in the cup will boost the US's confidance and they will play better and if all goes as planed we will bring home the cup!

i think with or without baros the czechs will do well i think if baros really wanted to play there should be no ? that he will play umm i hope the us do well and i have a feeling will get 2 in the group by beating italy

i agree with storm, i personally dont think baros could make a difference even if he was playing. but the thing is is that baros and not nedved is hurt so the us is still gonna have a tough time.

I think czech will win anyway, they have too strong a team. Italy-US will be the decicive match and I think a very good one

i dont think he should play all he may do is aggervate his injury whichwill cause his team a loss but i have no doubt that the czechs can win their opponent
