Day 2: Argentina, England and T&T get results
The upset of the day was a scoreless draw that saw a 10-men Trinidad and Tobago hold off the Swedish attack to get a point in their first ever World Cup match. Elsewhere, England and Argentina grabbed victories...
England started the morning with a quick score, a own goal flicked in by Paraguay's Carlos Gamarra off of a David Beckham freekick in the opening minutes of the match. But the rest of the game lacked in inspired play by either side, and England took a 1-0 victory despite less than stellar play.
The final game of the day provided more action as Argentina took a 2-0 lead into halftime and held on, in the face of a strong charge from Ivory Coast in the final 10 minutes. The goal scorers for Argentina were Crespo and Saviola. Didier Drogba pulled back a goal late in the 82nd minute, but saw his side fall 2-1 in their opening match.

YEAH, that is right; England beat Paraguay 1-0. I do not care what people say about how Beckham's penalty kick was off the guy's head. The ball still would have gone in. And I was surprised how tremendious Paul Robinson did after headmitted how he disliked the new balls. I have one myself and as a goalkeeper I do not like it.

i have no doubt that this year world cup soccer champions will be (1) brazil or (2) england. i do hope all the teams will have a good time in germany but class is class , the two teams mention above will meet in the final , good luck guyes .

I'm a sick fan of brasil, however brasil will get this even they put it in the most hard team. I don't know what team brasil is going to get it over but I knew brasil will shampion

Maybe we are heading towards a replay between Germany and Brasil. In that case, the result will also be a replay. Unless T&T stuns the world!

Look out the Soca warriors are coming.The world didn't even think we would get a point in this competition.The bigest surprise is yet to come so come on and support the underdogs,it would be pandemonium in Germany on Thursday when we beat England.We will paint the stadium red.We will leave an everlasting image on FIFA and football fans all over the world,so come on Dwight,Shaka,and the rest of the guys,the whole of T&T and half of the world are behind you now,so play football T&T style.

england was so boring to watch i mean all they did was kick it up feild and hope someone got to it which they didnt, i got so bored of the same thing over and over again by half time i went to play fifa 06 with my friends cuz i knew they wouldnt score again, I used to hate beckham but he rlly did suprise me though, but how could sweden tie? man i hate shaka hislop! y is he so good?
