Tardelli: Lippi Should Drop Zaccardo And Toni
(Goal.com) - Former Italy international Marco Tardelli believes coach Marcello Lippi should drop Cristian Zaccardo and Luca Toni for the final group game against the Czech Republic.
Neither have excelled in the World Cup so far, with Zaccardo scoring an own goal in the draw with Italy on Saturday, and Toni being substituted for the second match running.
"I would give Zaccardo a break in defence, also because there is Massimo Oddo on the bench," Tardelli told Radio Anch'io Sport.
"Then in attack, Toni is not looking in great physical shape and I would play either Vincenzo Iaquinta or Pippo Inzaghi, who is perhaps the most in-form player."
