Cannavaro Tops Real Wish List
(Soccer365.com) - Real Madrid general manager Predrag Mijatovic claims the club are close to luring Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro from troubled Juventus.
The two-time defending Serie A champs are facing relegation for their part in the Italian wiretap scandal, and several players could quickly jump ship – as coach Fabio Capello did for the Bernabéu.
“During the last two years, he has been instrumental in Juve winning two Scudettos and in Italy winning the World Cup,” said former Merengue hero Mijatovic.
“We are going to do everything possible to bring him to Real.”
The Galacticos may do more shopping in Turin, with wingback Gianluca Zambrotta apparently also in discussion.

That might be the best move they have made in a long time.

After his performance in Germany, Cannavaro probably tops the "wish list" of almost every club that is looking for a defender, but Real is probably one of the few with the budget and cache to lure him.
Fantastic player.
