Dowie Hope For Gibbs: November
(Soccer365.com) - Charlton boss Iain Dowie says he is crossing his fingers that US defender Cory Gibbs can be at his service shortly after Halloween.
The American Abroad, who signed with the Addicks shortly before missing out on World Cup 2006 with a knee injury, is still recovering from surgery in the States.
"It's something we have to deal with and the lad needs support now," Dowie told the club website. "That's what we have to give him."
"I would think (his return) will be the early part of November."
"We will make sure he has the best of treatment," boasted the coach, who envisions Gibbs as his starting left back. "I pride myself in having people that really make sure that the rehab is focused."
"We have got some good people at the club and one or two additional people to make sure Cory gets back in the best possible shape."
