I Want Cannavaro, Says Capello
(Soccer365.com) - Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello has furthered the club’s campaign to attract Fabio Cannavaro from troubled Juventus by saluting the world champion to the press.
“We only want real men, who aren’t afraid of wearing this glorious jersey,” said the coach to Spanish daily AS. “Cannavaro is one of these - a serious person, a true leader.”
The erstwhile Juve manager left due to the wiretapping scandal which seems certain to relegate the Old Lady.
The penalty will also send the players looking elsewhere, and Capello says he is unconcerned over the veteran’s shelf life.
“Age is not a problem as, physically, Cannavaro is in full form,” he stated. “To me he was the best player of the World Cup.”

Who wouldn't want him? and yes he deserved the golden ball as the world cup's best player, too bad they don't consider defenders (Example Baresi & Maldini in the past).

Frankly, I would love to see Cannavaro go to Real. He certainly deserves a big name move after his performance in Germany. I'd like to see he go somewhere where I can enjoy watching him play. Serie A has talented players, but it has become a subpar league and boring to watch (and apparently quite corrupt) with all the diving and play acting removing all fluidity from the game.
Let's get the benefit of seeing a truly talented defender that is in stellar form play his veteran years at another top club.

I don't care where Cannavaro goes, but all the other top stars in Serie A need to leave. It is a joke, in which great teams such as juventus and Milan would need to cheat and fix matches. That is horrible, and why in the world is Milan the only team involved not being demoted to the second division? It's a shame that the beautyful game has come to this. And quite frankly I was quit angry the italians even made it to the final, because this scandal made me loose alot of respect for them.

Brandon I agree with you that with all the fire power those teams did not need to cheat, but remember the players on the field had pretty much nothing to do with it, it was all the office top guns(Moggi,Giraudo,Bettega,Lolito,Della Valle,Galliani etc.) that did all the damage. Why would you penalize the national team for going to the final when knowing what was going on back home, they played with their hearts and soul. The teams involved have to pay the price, and they are ,but why condem the other 16 teams and all the serie A players.
