PSV Claim No Mendez Bid… Yet
(Soccer365.com) - Despite claims to the contrary, PSV general manager Stan Valckx has stated that the Dutch champs have not yet tendered an offer for LDU Quito star Edison Mendez.
The Ecuador star revealed that he was close to securing a dream move to Holland, but the Farmers are still preparing their approach.
Valckx believes the World Cup ace can slot smoothly into the midfield position vacated by Mark van Bommel last summer.
"Mendez is a good player, but PSV has not made a bid on him and there has been no discussion with his club," he told Eindhovens Dagblad.
"We are actually looking into the possibility of bringing him to the Netherlands – the interest is serious."
