(Soccer365.com) - Italy midfielder Francesco Totti has announced that he will likely retire from international football after waging battle in the World Cup 2006 final.

"I'm 90 percent sure I will leave the national team," he told Sky Italia. "I hope to end the adventure in a good way."

The AS Roma star thanked his Azzurri coach for keeping the faith when he was injured this winter.

"I've thanked Marcelo Lippi," said Totti. "I'll thank him always because from the beginning, he believed in my recovery."
