Juve Appeal Could Lead To Italy Ban
(Goal.com) - Juve's fight against the punishment handed out to them in the match-fixing scandal could even see Italy miss out on Euro 2008, said FIFA.
Juventus continue to fight against the demotion to Serie B along with the deduction of 17 points, and are currently trying to appeal to a civil court.
If they were to manage to do so, the Italian Federation (FIGC) could be suspended by FIFA, according to the governing body's rules.
In a released letter, the FIGC acknowledged that Juve had not yet launched the appeal, and went on to threaten more sanctions and punishments should the Bianconeri do so to a Regional Administrative Court based in Rome, as they annouced they would on Monday.
They also went on to say that they had already sent a letter to FIFA explaining the situation, and their position on Juve's appeal.
The initial punishments in the Calciopoli scandal had seen Juventus demoted to Serie B along with a 30 point deduction, which was later repealed to 17. The other demoted clubs - Lazio and Fiorentina - saw their demotions overturned, while Milan are back in the Champions League.

that is all Italy needs,if this hold Juventus and its directors are the biggest a**holes ever, how can such a corrupted team caught on tape, now ruin a whole country???Juve should stripped of their titles for the past 10 years. it's funny how they dominate in Italy and fall on their faces in the champions league???CAN IT BE that in europe they have no influence with the refs????The serie A will be a real league without them, and it's even sadder that they had the players and didn't need the scandalous game fixing.

FIFA is trying to extort Juve by threatening the whole of Italy. The protest is just;by overturning the punishment of the other 3 teams you have given Juve just cause. Juve is being scapegoatted for problems rampant throughout the league. Punish them yes,Serie B - NO.

Anyone who watches and follows the Italian serie A,knows that Juventus,Milan and Inter tend to have favoratism from the refs,Moggi masterminded the scandal and he made sure juve won in any way(juve with their team would have probably won anyway)look at the difference between the champions league and than the serie A,in europe Juve keeps losing and the players get sent off when they deserve it, and juve doesn't get any gifted penalties, the favoritism for juve in the serie was is SO obvious that it was sinful. They robbed and got caught,Milan, fiorentina and lazio did a lot less so that is why the penalty was less. It got to a point last year that after a game (against parma)I nearly fell off my chair at the horrendous officiating, juve gets TOO much help from the refs and Moggi had everything to do with it.Juve has to pay, Moggi worked for juve and all of juve knew what was going on.NOT ITALY nor the other Italian teams should suffer for the selfishness of juve.Remember that Genoa was demoted to serie c after coming up to serie a for fixing ONE game, juve fixed the last 10 years.

That is insain. Juventus has nothing to do with euro 2008, it makes no sense at all. If anything, instead of serie B move them into Serie C, but their is no reason to penalize the whole italian national team for some stupid club who won't admitt their mistake in cheating! As far as im concerned the other clubs involved got real lucky and should join juventus is serie B.

I agree that Juve should be stripped of their rank, but not demoted. Italian soccer wouldn't be the same without the internatoinal squad of juventis. Many brilliant players would go to clubs that are rich and are buying all the players available.

I hope they ban all the teams from Italy. Italy's history in soccer has always been stained with scandal. One thing after another.
