Ribéry Race: Lyon In, Bayern Out
(Soccer365.com) - Upon learning that Lyon are preparing a bid in excess of €20 million, Bayern Munich have dropped out of the pricey running for Olympique Marseille winger Franck Ribéry.
"We are not thinking about him any more, as his price is just too high," said general manager Uli Hoeness.
Meanwhile, Lyon are shooting down speculation that they’ve tabled an offer – for now.
"Olympique Lyonnais have denied the reported information about a bid for Franck Ribéry," read a club statement. "But the club still studies appropriate possibilities to launch an offer in the next few days."

Seriously , I think this player isn't worth it, sure he went to the world cup final big deal. They should really be paying attention to other young talents like mexico's Andres Guardado or Argentina Sergio Aguero these guys are worth it.

I like Ribery,he's a work horse, plays with his heart and for the team, what he's really worth ??,I think he needs to show consistency and the reward will come,I like his style.

tony p is right. he is a work horse. when he was subbed out in extra time of the wc final, you could see the fatigue in his face, and with just cause. AND he was consistent. only one other player on the french team could say that: zidane. consistent with stupid send-offs. but thats over and done with. i say ribery is worth the money... at least for now.

Anyone that thinks Ribery is not worth it simply did not see him in Germany. If you weren't convinced by his play at Galatasaray or haven't kept up with him at Marseille(where he has been named French player of the month 3 times) surely you should have taken notice in Germany. When you see a 23 year old take the world stage and turn in that type of performance all the way to the World Cup final, you know he has earned the high dollar offers. In my estimation, he was deserving of man of the match honors at least twice in Germany.
If anyone needs a young, fearless, dangerous workaholic of a midfielder (and I think everyone does); Ribery might be your man. Just might want to make sure you get him in a rock solid contract after some of the monkey business with his Galatasaray contract...
